Ridge Crest Receives $137,000 for New Roof!

ATAS International and the Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation fund Ridge Crest Roof

It’s not every day we receive an $82,000 product donation for a state-of-the-art new roof; and it’s not every day we receive a $55,000 installation grant to put it up.

But June 2nd was our day.

On Friday, June 2nd, installation of a brand new state-of-the art, life-time guaranteed metal roof at our Ridge Crest facility began.

Ridge Crest is LifePath’s largest residential facility – it serves 31 medically fragile and technology-dependent children and young adults. The building is a 26,000-square-foot single story structure built in 1974 that had a dated roof that was in constant need of repair.

“We’ve been patching up our roof for years now and never thought a new roof would be possible,” said Krissy Gorel, director of nursing at Ridge Crest.

In the fall of 2015 LifePath launched a capital campaign (Raise the Roof) to help raise money for new roofs and facility needs for LifePath’s 100 community homes. In response to the capital campaign, ATAS International donated all materials for a state-of-the-art, lifelong lasting metal roof for Ridge Crest – a value of $82,000!

However, when we received the roofing donation we were faced with the dilemma as to whether or not we could accept the donation since installation prices for a metal roof were extremely high -- estimated at $55,000. Upon writing to the Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation about our dilemma, the Foundation generously granted us $55,000 to fund the entire cost of installation!

“We’re so thankful to ATAS International and the Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation for making this dream a reality,” said Gorel. “We feel so secure now with the state-of-the-art roof over our heads, protecting us.”

This project is a legacy-level achievement and one that will be appreciated for as long as the roof lasts – forever.
