Announcing our 2020 Luncheon Keynote Speaker!

LifePath is proud to announce our 2020 PICPA Benefit Luncheon Keynote Speaker...

Legendary Sports Author Jack McCallum!

A former news writer from the Bethlehem Globe-Times, legendary sports writer Jack McCallum is now a special contributor to Sports Illustrated. He was formerly a writer for the magazine for almost 30 years, primarily covering the National Basketball Association. His work has been widely praised throughout his tenure with the magazine and he gained entry to the writers' wing of the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005 as the recipient of the Curt Gowdy Media Award.

In addition to his work with Sports Illustrated, McCallum is also the author of 12 books, including two New York Times best-sellers. His acclaimed books offer in-depth looks at notable basketball teams and figures such as Unfinished Business (1990-91 Boston Celtics), 7 Seconds or Less (2005-2006 Phoenix Suns), Dream Team (1992 United States Men’s Olympic Basketball Team), and Shaq Attaq (Shaquille O’Neal’s Rookie Season).

Not just content to write from the sidelines, Jack is known for his hands on approach and first-hand accounts of these fascinating sports teams, which lead to him working as an unofficial assistant coach with the Phoenix Suns in 2005 and 2006.

While most of his work centers on basketball, his area of specialty at SI, he has also opened up and written a comical book about his very personal experience with prostate cancer. He is currently working on a book about the impacts of race and the spread of basketball in the early part of the 20th century.

His stories have been chosen repeatedly for "Best American Sports Stories” and his 2020 podcast, "The Dream Team Tapes," has attracted more than one million downloads.

Jack is an alumnus of Muhlenberg College and Lehigh University. He has taught writing and Journalism at his alma mater and also at Middlebury College. A native of Mays Landing NJ, Jack and his wife Donna are currently Bethlehem residents.

LifePath is so proud to welcome Jack to our luncheon this fall and look forward to hearing his sports stories first hand!
